戎橋での Asahi SUPER ‘DRY’
Modern ‘Aqua Metropolis’,
moves, hums, smells, tastes,
swirl the neon lights
in the Dōtonbori canal.
Ripples,
in Osaka,
swing day and night.
このシリーズは平成時代の浪花の賑わいをテーマに、「水の都」の動きを色と人工光で表現した写真です。
「摂津名所図会」、「浪花百景」などのような明確に人々の暮らしを記録するより、このセットは「光が川に踊っている」風景に抽象的なイメージを見て感じて、「今の大阪」の魅力を五感で感じていただければ幸いです。
The ancient Osaka was known as ‘a place where the ocean currents are extremely rapid’ in many Japanese historic documents.
Established herself as the ‘Aqua Metropolis’, modern Osaka swings day and night in all sorts of economic activities.
The artificial neon lights and the ripples in the Dōtonobori canal reveal all these moves, noises and smells.
The symbols which I selected for this series, each tells a slice of life of the contemporary Osaka people, from food and beer, electrical appliances, real estate to credit services.
While it is of secondary importance as to whether these symbols are being recognised, I hope the vibrant rays shall weave an inviting waltz to all those audiences who are yet to visit and experience the real dynamics of Osaka.
完成第一幅我滿意的圖像時，正值我來日留學的一週年（按：時為二零零九年）。
大阪市中心的風貌，從來未變：喧鬧、躍動、空氣中瀰漫著美食的味道。
她貴為「水都」，並擔當起「天下廚房」的角色，自然是商貿繁盛，日夜無間。
霓裳舞影，透視了水都的脈膊。
漣漪漩渦，泛起了浪花的心跳。
願道頓堀川的水中夜色，直到永遠。

The selected pictures in this series were chosen from approximately 1300 cuts, which were being shot during the period from April to August, 2009.
